Not Lucky yet - tribute to the Bloody Hundredth

Artwork for Squadron company which is a tribute to the "Bloody Hundredth" - 100 Bomb Group USAAF. Image shows B-17F-120-BO), 42-30796 nicknamed ”Sunny II” co-piloted by famous John "Lucky" Luckadoo over target: submarine pens in Bordeaux & LaPallice on September 16th 1943.
For the majority of the crew of ”Sunny II”, this would be their last mission and they would be celebrating finishing their combat tour just a few hours later. Co-pilot, Lt. John H. “Lucky” Luckadoo and waist gunner S/SGT Elder D. Dickerson would go on to complete their tour much later. The Fortress in the background, “Wild Cargo” (B-17F-85-BO), 42-30064 was damaged by flak and ditched in the Atlantic near Île Madame, 12 miles south of La Rochelle, France. The crew became prisoners of war.
